Kim discovered his passion for performance and storytelling as a teenager while working as a theatre usher in Cape Town. Starting as a fashion photographer, he later transitioned to film, combining his love for imagery with the intimacy of human performance.
In 1998, Kim established Egg Films, his first production company, building a strong local and international clientele over the years. In 2014, he launched 03:07, which has earned accolades such as Production Company of the Year 2018 & 2020 by Ciclope Africa and Production Company of the Year at Loeries 2019.
Kim’s meticulous attention to detail and innovative concepts has consistently earned recognition at global award shows, including Cannes, Clios, LIA’S, Ciclope, D&AD, The One Show, and more. Notably, Topsy’s ‘Selinah’ achieved South Africa’s first Grand LIA at the London International Advertising Awards, along with Cannes Gold and numerous other international honours.
